Indications
Eltroxin 100mcg Tablets are used for:

Hypothyroidism: A condition in which the thyroid gland secretes less than normal amounts of thyroid hormones.

Congenital Hypothyroidism: Hypothyroidism that is present at birth.

Acquired Hypothyroidism in Children: Hypothyroidism that develops in children.

Juvenile Myxoedema: A severe type of hypothyroidism in children.

Thyroid Cancer: As part of post-operative thyroid hormone replacement therapy.

Dosage
Adults Less Than 50 Years: Usually begin with 100 micrograms a day, titrating every 3–4 weeks according to thyroid function tests. The terminal dose can be between 100 and 200 micrograms a day.

Adults More Than 50 Years or with Cardiovascular Diseases: Start with 25–50 micrograms a day, increasing slowly to avoid cardiovascular hazards.

Hypersensitivity to levothyroxine or any excipients.

Thyrotoxicosis (too much thyroid hormone).

Adrenal insufficiency or untreated adrenal gland disorders.

Acute myocardial infarction, myocarditis, or pancarditis

Use with caution in patients with:

Long-standing hypothyroidism.

Cardiovascular diseases (e.g., angina, coronary artery disease).

Epilepsy.

Panhypopituitarism.

Diabetes mellitus (may require dosage adjustments).

Continuous monitoring of thyroid function is needed to maintain the correct dosing.

Side Effects
Possible side effects are:

Common: Headache, tremor, nervousness, insomnia, heat intolerance, excessive sweating, weight loss, increased appetite, diarrhea, menstrual irregularities.

Serious: Chest pain, rapid or irregular heartbeat, palpitations, pain in bones, muscle weakness, hair loss (temporary), and in exceptional instances, thyroid crisis
