Nimenrix 0.5 mL is a meningococcal conjugate vaccine that provides immunity from four types of Neisseria meningitidis bacteria (strains A, C, W, and Y). This vaccine is injected into the muscle and is used to protect against serious illnesses such as meningitis or sepsis. Nimenrix 0.5 mL is suitable for people of all ages over 6 weeks.Key FactsIntended use: To prevent invasive meningococcal disease (serotypes A, C, W-135, and Y).Dose: 0.5 mL by intramuscular injection (into the thigh for babies, into the upper arm for adults).Duration: Immunity against serotypes C, Y, and W-135 usually persists for five years, immunity against serotype A may fade faster.Side Effects: Local reaction (pain, tenderness, redness, swelling), fever, irritability, headache, fatigue.Storing conditions: The vaccine must be stored in a refrigerator at temperatures between 2°C and 8°C; freezing should be avoided.
