Noctamid 1mg is made up of lormetazepam, which is a benzodiazepine that has short-acting properties and is taken for short-term treatment of severe insomnia. It makes you sleep faster and decreases wakefulness at night. The duration of use ranges between a few days and 4 weeks. Some side effects include tiredness during the day, dizziness, and headaches.Key Information & PrecautionsDosage: Usual dose is 1 tablet before going to bed. However, for elderly patients and those with liver or kidney problems, only 0.5 mg should be taken.Dependence & Tolerance: Long-term use should be avoided since it might result in physical and psychological dependence.Precautions: Alcohol and other sedatives must not be consumed while on Noctamid because the patient may experience severe difficulty breathing. This medication is not recommended for people with myasthenia gravis or severe respiratory deficiency.
