Description
Ponaxen 15 mg (active ingredient: ponatinib) is considered to be targeted medication that belongs to the group of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI), and is intended for treatment of certain types of adult blood cancer diseases, such as chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and Philadelphia chromosome positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ ALL). This drug is usually prescribed for those patients who have become resistant or intolerant to other medicines, or those who have the T315I mutation.Dosage and AdministrationStandard Initial Dose: Usually recommended to be taken at 45 mg orally once per day, but usually decreased to 15 mg once per day as a maintenance dose after achieving good cytogenetic response from the patient’s side.Ways of administration: The entire tablet should be swallowed without chewing, crushing, or breaking. This medicine can be taken both with or without food.Critical limitations: Grapefruit or grapefruit juice should be avoided by patients
