Tofaxen 5 mg is an anti-inflammatory drug prescribed for the treatment of diseases caused by the activation of the immune system such as moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and ulcerative colitis.Drug DetailsPrimary Purpose: Functions through inhibiting JAK enzymes (JAK1 and JAK3), which blocks the body from reacting to the cytokine signaling pathway leading to inflammatory and joint destruction.Standard Dosage: 5 mg to be administered twice a day for patients with rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis. It can be taken with food or without food.Possible Side Effects: Infections of the upper respiratory tract, headache, diarrhea, nasopharyngitis, nausea, and minor gastric side effects.Warnings: Suppression of the immune system leads to increased susceptibility to infection.
