Venofer 100mg is an iron replacement drug that works intravenously and is mainly used in treating iron deficiency anemia in adults and children aged 2 years or more suffering from chronic kidney diseases (CKD). The medication has iron sucrose as its main ingredient and is injected slowly into veins through a vein infusion by a doctor.Main Facts About the DrugMain Use: Used in treating iron deficiency anemia; it may be particularly helpful for people under hemodialysis therapy or those who are unable to take oral iron treatment.Dose and Administration: In patients under dialysis therapy, the recommended dose of 100 mg is administered consecutively during dialysis either as a slow infusion (within 2 to 5 minutes) or diluted in saline (in more than 15 minutes).Side Effects: Among other common side effects, there are nausea, dizziness, high/low blood pressure and injection site pain.Warnings: The use of this medicine requires special caution in patients suffering from infections.
